As many of you will know, Torraine Sears tragically passed away in May 2015. Torraine coached our junior players for many years, was a dedicated member of our club and a very dear friend. He also worked tirelessly with Basketball NI and throughout Ireland.

During May 2016, Andersonstown Tigers hosted the first Torraine Sears Memorial Tournament to celebrate Torraines contribution to the Tigers and Basketball. Last year, Manchester Giants took home the Trophy. The Tournament was a huge success and based on the postive feedback, Andersonstown Tigers are proud and delighted to announce the second Torraine Sears Memorial Tournament with an expanded six team tournament.

Returning this year will be the defending holders Manchester Giants and they will be joined this years with teams from Rolenstown Dublin, Blue Demons Cork, Sligo All Stars, St Mirren and our own Basketball Northern Ireland.

However, in order to make this a success we need your help. While we have applied for local council funding and plan on approaching a number of local businesses for sponsorship we are now also asking the parents and friends of Tigers to assist us in making ends meet.

We will be printing a Tournament programme in which a half page advert costs £25, a full page is available at £50. Would you like to wish our teams well or do you know a company who would like some cost effective advertising?
Would you like to see your business logo on the t shirts worn by the event staff?
Are you a first aider and willing to cover the event?
Could you assist with transporting teams to and from the venue?
Or could you assist with day time or evening hospitality or provide a raffle prize?
If you would like to find out more, please contact Clare Callaghan Hegarty, John Hegarty or John Kennedy via Facebook, at the coaching sessions or via the webpage www.atownbball.co.uk
We look forward to welcoming you all to what promises to be a fantastic weekend of basketball, hosted by your club in memory of our very dear friend Torraine.
