Pumas take the win over Tigers Div One Men

30 Nov 2017 by John Kennedy

Pumas ended their seven game losing streak by taking the win over a subdued Tigers team. In a game that was very tight the whole way through, the Tigers will rue a number of missed opporunties to take the win. Pumas took an early lead in the 1st period, but the Tigers improved during the period and scored on the buzzer to lead 16-12. Pumas started quicker in tne second and started scoring 3 pts scores from 16 to estabish a 33-28 lead at the end of the period. Going into the 3rd, Tigers missed a number of routine layups but as the period went on, Pumas ran into foul trouble and Tigers fought back to only trail by 1, 47-46. With it all to play for going into the 4th period, Tigers started well to lead 51-49 and 53-51 in a game that continued to be very tight but Pumas started getting their big men into the game round the sides of the Tigers smaller defence for some easy layups and with 50.2 seconds left, Pumas regained the lead 63-62 and were able to see the game out 67-62. Tigers will no doubt look back on this as a missed opportunity to make it three home wins on the bounce. Thank fully there will be another game for the Tigers to bounce back.
